Project summary

CordiKids responds to the need for meaningful digital readiness in early childhood education without increasing children’s screen time. The project develops playful coding, unplugged and non-screen robotics activities that help children aged 3–6 explore STEM concepts through movement, storytelling, collaboration and hands-on play.

At the heart of CordiKids is the idea that early technology education should also support children’s social-emotional development. Through collaborative coding tasks, stories and group challenges, children are encouraged to practise empathy, listen to others, share ideas, help their peers and solve problems together. In this way, coding and robotics become tools not only for developing early digital literacy, but also for strengthening cooperation, communication and emotional awareness.

At the same time, CordiKids supports kindergarten teachers with clear curricula, practical activity plans, short demonstration videos, training activities and an on-demand Microlearning Library. By combining technology with empathy-building, the project helps teachers create high-quality learning experiences that strengthen children’s curiosity, problem-solving, teamwork and confidence in an age-appropriate way.

Why CordiKids?

Many kindergartens want to introduce digital and STEM concepts, but teachers often need simple, age-appropriate and easy-to-use resources. CordiKids offers practical tools for playful coding, unplugged activities and non-screen robotics that can be used in everyday kindergarten settings, including resource-limited environments.

With play, inclusion and social-emotional learning at its centre, CordiKids helps teachers introduce technology in a meaningful way while supporting children’s curiosity, cooperation, empathy and problem-solving skills.
